Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard due to non-compliances and exceptions listed below:
- Keyboard Accessibility 2.1.1
“All functionality of the content is operable through a keyboard interface without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes”.
There are two areas within the website where keyboard interaction is more difficult. The first is an advanced tool: Custom Area Reporter that can be navigated using mouse key. The second is the main menu that requires ‘tabbing’ through all options with the keyboard. We are currently working with ESRI UK and our web development team to resolve these specific issues.
- Sensory Characteristics 1.3.3
“Instructions provided for understanding and operating content do not rely solely on sensory characteristics of components such as shape, size, visual location, orientation, or sound”.
Links are used within the website both to external pages and to other parts of the interface. To work towards this guideline, we have enabled software that enhances labelling of links and makes operating clearer to the user. We are currently working with our web development team to resolve any outstanding issues.
What we are doing to improve non-compliances and exceptions
To test Public Health Insights Worcestershire we use the Siteimprove and WAVE web quality assurance tools monthly to help monitor usability and accessibility issues. We will aim to fix any issues identified as soon as possible.
